~   AS GOOD AS GOLD AT 100 YEARS OLD   ~

Welcome

In 2019 Kirkland Lake will turn 100. To celebrate this Centennial milestone, Town Council struck a Kirkland Lake 100th Anniversary Committee in late 2016.

This committee is formulating a plan of events that will run from January 1st to December 31, 2019. In addition, the committee is currently supporting, promoting and implementing events and initiatives that will enable our Master Plan for 2019.

On January 1, 2017, we kicked off our awareness campaign with a New Year's Skate at the new Civic Service Stadium Outdoor Rink. We followed up with a Free Kids Bowl Event on February 18th.

Several Community Outreach Meetings have been held to receive input from Kirkland Lake and our surrounding communities. It is only with the active participation of all that we will enable a celebration of the magnitude that we envision.

On May 12th and 13th we promoted "Kirkland Lake - Then and Now" at Merchant Mania. We were also present at the "Toburn Day in the Park" on June 24th, and at the Museum of Northern History on July 1st celebrating Canada 150.

Watch for us through media, on Facebook, and committee members.

We look forward to receiving your input and hope that you will participate in some way as we move forward.
